Last fall the ASIN Content Management Group circulated a survey to the members of CAUL-CBUA asking about software implemented in the various libraries. The results are now posted in a PDF on the CAUL-CBUA website under the title ASIN, Software by Institution.

Truncation in SingleSearch
Please note that the "*" is the standard truncation character in SingleSearch. If an asterisk is found at the end of a search term the SingleSearch connector will map the "*" to the appropriate truncation character in the native interface, whatever it might be. Most native interfaces already use the "*" as their truncation character. We did discover that SingleSearch was not supporting truncation in Web of Science and WIlsonWeb databases. I have submited this problem to SirsiDynix for repair but in the meantime have created my own fix for adding truncation support for keyword anywhere searches until the actual fix is recieved which will deal with author, title and subject truncation. This fix will be applied to all of your instances as soon as Glenn returns from vacation. Also, SingleSearch will not map the "*" character if the native interface does not support truncation (e.g. Google). Thanks to Slavko Manojlovich at MUN for this posting which originally appeared on the ASIN tech list.
